Recruitment Process Outsourcing
Question: Discuss about the Recruitment Process Outsourcing. Answer: Introduction: While outsourcing essentially initiated as a strategy for reaping cost savings particularly in context of non-core functions, but over the last decade or so it has developed itself into a strategic tool responsible for competitive advantage. One of the prime facilitators of the same is the limited availability of skilled manpower and the global availability of the same. Further, in the knowledge economy, skilled manpower tends to be key differentiator for which firms have to scout globally. In this regard, RPO or Recruitment Process Outsourcing gains significance. RPO may be defined as a sub-category of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) where the recruitment function is outsourced to an external agency which is rendered the responsibility of hiring skilled employees for the employer (Klaas, McClendon Gainey, 2001). Besides, cost savings RPO provides free time to HR managers which thus could be used to focus their attention on designing key HR strategies so as to enhance the overall satisfaction level of employees which would lead to higher productivity and retention. RPO as a process has been facilitated by the increasing focus of the management on talent management which essentially begins with recruitment. As a result, the HR managers globally have cashed upon outsourcing as a strategic option which could essentially improve talent management as a whole (Nelson and Gerard, 2005). Besides, it is critical to consider that in the globalised recruitment field, there are significant overhead costs which are often not noticed by the employer. But through the hiring of an agency in the RPO, it is comparatively easier to highlight and measure these costs which are otherwise hidden and thus uncontrollable (Mazur Kleiner, 2002). Besides, with the geographical spread of multinational organisations, it becomes essentially difficult for the employers to integrate all the requisite information so as to enable proactive workforce planning which indicates the estimated demand based on which recruitment needs to be periodically held. This is achieved through RPO whereby a dedicated agency is able to form an integrated platform for talent management (Stroh Treehuboff, 2003). This allows the HR personnel to save their crucial time and also allow for better hiring decisions so as to ensure that there is no shortage of requisite manpower while minimising the employees kept as buffer. An RPO can also provide a thorough analysis to the employer with regards to the job market and prevailing compensation and incentives that are being offered by other players. This information enables the employer to benchmark the compensation and related incentives being offered and allow them to make requisite changes in a timely manner so as to attract the best talent in the industry without overpaying (Shelgren, 2004). The methods deployed by the agency hired in the RPO tends to provide specialised knowledge about the appropriate tests to be considered to check specific skills the availability of manpower in line with the expectations of the employer. The specialist agency can enables the employer into highlighting the potential sources of candidates based on their underlying skill requirement. As a result, the RPO seems to a superior alternative in comparison with the available traditional hiring mechanism which the employer would otherwise use with lesser efficiency. Besides, being a specialist in recruitment services, the RPO agency could provide exposure to global best practices in terms of hiring to the employees besides ensuring that the organisation is not constrained by geographical parameters and is able to hire global talent (Nelson and Gerard, 2005). Having explored the benefits of RPO, it is imperative to shed light on the underlying process which is essential so as to be able to reap the above. The RPO process begins with the meeting between the employer and the specialised agency which is undertaken primarily to understand the requirements of the employer. Based on the underlying requirements, the underlying job description and specification is decided based on inputs from the employer. Further, with regards to the compensation to be offered, discussions are held with the HR executives of the employer and market trends are highlighted so that the employer can design suitable packages with inputs from the agency. Once this done, advertisements are placed through requisite sources where the chances to reach the desired candidates would potentially be the highest. Based on the responses and applications received by the interested candidates an initial screening is performed by the agency based on the criterion provided by the emp loyer (Masinovic, 2010). Initial interview is arranged by the RPO where the company HR personnel along with subject experts are invited so that further screening of the candidates can be done. Additionally, another round of HR interview and other tests (such as psychometric) may be held in assistance with the representatives of the employer which would enable them to finally select the best candidates. In the process of final selection, the agency provides key inputs based on their expertise and experience so as to help the employer make prudent choice (Shelgren, 2004). This is imperative since there are significant training costs that the employer invests on employees and as a result it is essential that the employees should stick around (Prowse Prowse, 2010). The agency issues offer letter to the selected candidates and also communicates with them with regards to their joining date and other formalities that they need to fulfil. As a result, it is evident that the RPO agency clearly plays a pivotal role a s a mediator between the employer and the candidates while ensuring benefits for both parties involved (Ordanini Silvestri, 2008). Based on the above description, the flow diagram of RPO is shown below. It is noteworthy that even though RPO is gaining higher acceptance and popularity but the key aspect for the success of this endeavour is the level of communication and coordination between the client and RPO agency. This would ensure that the client would be able to reap the benefits of specialised knowledge possessed by the agency. Also, it would enable that the agency would be able to provide relevant services to the client which would ensure long term relationship and mutual gains for the involved stakeholders (Stroh Treehuboff, 2003). Considering the potential gains that are on offer by RPO, it may be concluded that in the near future, it is expected that this trend would increase further so as to build competitive advantage in an increasingly competitive business place (Shelgren, 2004). Mental Health Policy Thesis Statement Social Work Essays Mental Health Policy Thesis Statement Social Work Essay Mental Health Policy Thesis Statement Social Work Essay Essay Topic: 7th Grade An opprobrious, compelling and ruling behaviour in a dating relationship among the teenage childs is termed as dating force. Students susceptible to dating force suffer greatly in footings of their academic public presentation, societal and extra-curricular activities. They may demo hapless consequences and isolate themselves from co-workers and friends. They may demo deficiency of involvement in extra-curricular activities. All these activities are consequences of hapless mental wellness. Such pupils have a profound consequence on their mind due to being exposed to some sort of in-home force in their childhood. They exhibit anger direction upsets and have a history of aggressive or active attitude. An even greater effect of dating force may be self-destructions ( Maryland School Mental Health Alliance ) . Background There may be several classs in dating force like sexual, emotional, psychological or electronic. Physical force may affect forcing, crushing or catching one s spouse. Psychological force comprises of commanding behaviours like forestalling him or her to affect with other people while electronic force is the name-calling or strong-arming through texting. A latest study has revealed that psychological and physical maltreatment is a common facet of dating among the American childs. Among 1400 7th class pupils being interviewed by the research workers showed that about 37 % of 11-14 twelvemonth olds had been susceptible to some type of psychological force while about one sixth had experienced physical force during an ongoing relationship. About three-fourth of pupils had a fellow or a girlfriend during their in-between school. The study provided a figure of conditions related to dating force. Among the pupils being surveyed, there was a big figure who believed that it is all right to hit one s girlfriend. A moderate figure of them had undergone sexual torment through physical or verbal agencies by touching in a incorrect manner or by jesting ( Dating Violence Common by 7th Grade ) . However, teenage dating force is non restricted to occidentalize and industrialised states. A survey carried out on international degree revealed that dating force extended among males and females was high in all the states under survey. Dating force was studied through a figure of variables like assailing a spouse, depression, hurt and sexual coercion. Mental upsets are considered to be wellness conditions that are attributed by temper swings related to emphasize or decreased operation of encephalon. Mental upsets may take to diverse complication which includes hurting, disablement or decease. Mental unwellness is a broader term embracing all the identifiable mental upsets. Mental upsets are a major subscriber towards disablement. The disease load because of mental unwellness is the greatest among all diseases. National Institute of Mental Health ( NIMH ) has reported that about 13 million American grownups suffer from serious considering mental unwellnesss. Mental upsets contribute to 25 % loss of life clip through disablement and premature mortality and in Canada and United States ; they are taking cause of disablement. Suicide is the 11th most dominant cause of decease in America where it takes off about 30,000 Americans. There is a strong correlativity between mental and physical wellness. A good head leads to good wellness. Ability of people to prosecute in wellness promoting activities reduces as a consequence of mental unwellnesss like depression and anxiousness ( Mental Health and Mental Disorders ) . Therefore, it is truly of import to cover with mental wellness jobs originating as a consequence of dating force because in terrible instances it may take one to self-harm or even self-destructive efforts. Aggression personality upsets are a common phenomenon with the victims of dating force which involves increased look of choler, anti-social behaviour and self-harm personality upset etc. About 20 % of self-destructive individuals have a history of force. Other than that, the victims of dating force are more likely towards the usage of drugs, intoxicant and smoke which farther deteriorates mental wellness. Besides, there is a tendency of utilizing laxatives, dieting pills, fasting and orgy feeding for weight direction among such persons which lead to eating upsets. Besides there is an increased hazard of acquiring infected with sexually transmitted diseases like HIV because the persons may fear the usage of rubber because of the violent spouse and unprotected sex may take to such di seases ( Teen dating force ) . Therefore, to relieve such symptoms and personality upsets among such people and other wellness associated hazards, a mental wellness policy is demanded. Mental Health Policies Followed around the universe A figure of school and community based plans are runing. Most common are the primary bar plans that aim at forestalling maltreatment before it starts. The plan emphasizes upon supplying clear cognition and suited behaviours sing the dating maltreatment. Its course of study is based upon increasing consciousness of dating force, contending force beliefs, promote aid seeking and skill development in order to better the communicating schemes and direction of struggles ( Adolescent dating violence-awareness and bar ) . Such enterprises may take to betterment of mental wellness. Other than plan enterprises, there has been a limited coverage in the legal sphere for reforms of legislative and judicial nature in dating force. Merely a little figure of adolescent victims knock the door of jurisprudence to seek legal redresss like protection orders against dating spouses who are opprobrious. The course of study comprises of a drama on dating force, posting presentation, and beginning stuff for parents and a general lineation for instructors ( Teen dating force as a public wellness issue ) . My mental wellness policy proposal In my apprehension, a mental wellness policy should first of all reference the psychological science of the center and high school pupils. There should be a compulsory topic on issues related to dating force. The instructors should detect the pupils keenly. If the psychological jobs are observed in some pupils, they should be provided guidance in the school. Parents should besides play an of import function in covering with dating force. They should develop a strong bonding with the kids so that they could portion what is traveling on in their life. Besides, the parents can so assist them get bying with their peculiar state of affairss through their ain life s experiences. The equals are most cognizant of dating force. So the equal groups should be educated about the negative and sick effects of it so that they can help their friend who is sing it. The legislative organic structure on portion of dating force should go more active and efficient in deciding the dating force instances and there should be a system of punishments and penalty to those who commit this offense. Decision Dating force is a serious and broad spread job worldwide. Other than go againsting the human rights, it affects the physical, sexual, generative, mental, emotional and societal public assistance of persons and households. Physical hurt, abortion, sexually familial infections, mental upsets like aggression, anxiousness and depression are the immediate and long term wellness effects associated with satiating force. Other than that, usage of illicit drugs and smoke are really frequent among the victims of dating force. A figure of enterprises are being under taken by the U.S. authorities in order to eliminate this issue from the general population. The most of import is the mental wellness policy that aims at bettering the mental wellness of the susceptible persons that in bend improves their physical wellness. With a healthy psychological science, they can cover with life in a suited manner and serve their state as effectual citizens.

How To Translate To and From Spanish and English
How To Translate To and From Spanish and English Some of the best advice you can get when you start translating to and from English or Spanish is to translate for meaning rather than to translate words. Sometimes what you want to translate will be straightforward enough that there wont be much difference between the two approaches. But more often than not, paying attention to what someone is saying - not just the words the person is using - will pay off in doing a better job of conveying the idea that someone is trying to get across. Key Takeaways When translating from one language to another, aim for conveying the meaning rather than translating individual words.Literal translations often fall short because they can fail to take into account the context and nuances of meaning. There is often no single best translation, so two translators can legitimately differ on their word choices. Translation Raised Questions One example of an approach you might take in translating can be seen in the answer to a question that a reader raised via email about an article that used to appear on this site: When youre translating from one language to another, how do you decide which word to use? Im asking because I saw recentlyà that you translated llamativas as bold, but that isnt one of the words listed when I looked up that word in the dictionary. The question referred to my translation of the sentence à ¿La fà ³rmula revolucionaria para obtener pestaà ±as llamativas? (taken from a Spanish-language Maybelline mascara ad) as The revolutionary formula for getting bold eyelashes? The writer was correct was correct that dictionaries dont give bold as a possible translation, but bold at least is closer in concept to the dictionary definition of what I used in my first draft: Then I used thick, which isnt even close to any standard of llamativo. Let me explain the various philosophies of translation before discussing that particular word. In general, it can be said that there are two extreme approaches in the way one can translate from one language to another. The first is seeking a literal translation, sometimes known as formal equivalence, in which an attempt is made to translate using the words that correspond as exactly as possible in the two languages, allowing, of course, for the grammatical differences but without paying a great deal of attention to context. A second extreme is paraphrasing, sometimes called making a free or loose translation. One problem with the first approach is that literal translations can be awkward. For example, it might seem more exact to translate the Spanish obtener as to obtain, but most of the time to get will do just as well and sounds less pretentious. An obvious problem with paraphrasing is that the translator may not accurately convey the intent of the speaker, especially where precision of language is required. So many of the best translations take a middle ground, sometimes known as dynamic equivalence - trying to convey the thoughts and intent behind the original as close as possible, veering from the literal where needed to do so. When Theres No Exact Equivalent In the sentence that led to the readers question, the adjective llamativo doesnt have an exact equivalent in English. It is derived from the verb llamar (sometimes translated as to call), so broadly speaking it refers to something that calls attention to itself. Dictionaries usually provide translations such as gaudy, showy, brightly colored, flashy, and loud (as in a loud shirt). However, some of those translations have somewhat negative connotations - something certainly not intended by the writers of the ad. The others dont work well for describing eyelashes. My first translation was a paraphrase; mascara is designed to make eyelashes appear thicker and therefore more noticeable, so I went with thick. After all, in English thats a common way to describe the kind of eyelashes that Maybelline customers would want. But upon reflection, that translation seemedà inadequate. This mascara, another part of the ad pointed out, not only makes the eyelashes look thicker, but also longer a nd exageradas or exaggerated. I considered alternative ways of expressing llamativas, but attractive seemed a bit too weak for an advertisement, enhanced seemed too formal, and attention-getting seemed to convey the thought behind the Spanish word in this context but didnt seem quite right for an ad. So I went with bold. It seemed to me to do a good job of stating the purpose of the product and is also a short word with a positive connotation that might work well in an ad. (If I had wanted to go for an extremely loose interpretation, I might have triedà Whats the secret to having eyelashes people will notice?) A different translator very well might have used a different word, and there very well could be words that would work better. In fact, another reader suggested striking - a great choice. But translation is often more art than science, and that can involve judgment and creativity at least as much as it does knowing the right words.

Slaughterhouse-Five and Public Incitement Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Slaughterhouse-Five and Public Incitement - Essay Example Indeed, the Article 25(3) (e) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court accommodates the incitement provision. Nevertheless, under the international law, public incitement can legally occur under the heading of self-defense. As such, civilians can engage in public incitement if they are in the line of defending themselves from attacks. However, soldiers in war can only engage in public incitement as the last option after exhausting all other avenues. Notably, though a group of people may conspire to engage in public incitement, only one person can lead in inciting the rest to participate in violence. It is common knowledge that most people fear incitement and more so participating in acts of violence. For example, in the book, ââ¬Å"Slaughterhouse-Five,â⬠we do not witness any characters in the story and even in the war zone because people are demotivated to being such characters. As such, it is usually, a hard task to incite people in committing violence. Most no table is the fact that in most cases violence leads to beatings, injuries, and deaths. Indeed, Billyââ¬â¢s abduction and mistreatment at the Slaughterhouse for five days proves this (Federhen 4-6). More than often, public incitement has been in application in many countries. For example, like the incitement to genocide in Rwanda, Israeli-Palestinianà war, and the World War II. ... Indeed, the qualities of Billy and those of Tralfamadorians the aliens who can see in the fourth dimension are exceptional in the context of the World War (Federhen 4-6). Additionally, a uniform is an acceptable sign of violence. A uniform brings forth an identity, which is very relevant in a public incitement that requires people to commit violence. Actually, as seen herein, the soldiers can take part in violence as a last resort castigated by public incitement. Indeed, the book tells us of soldiers at war in Vietnam and the issue of uniformity clearly manifests in this case. Moreover, the Tralfamadorians aliens equally had a sense of identity (Federhen 4-6). Additionally, the precise need for public incitement in the commitment of violence is the quest for uniformity so that everybody can focus on the violence. As such, when all the civilians unite in violence, the success of public incitement manifests. Furthermore, the public incitement plan sacrifices people. Actually, the book narrates how the Tralfamadorians aliens abducted a soldier, Billy Pilgrim during World War II and how the soldier survives a plane crash and the Dresden bombings all in the name of war fueled by public incitement (Federhen 4-6). Indeed, as earlier said, public incitement relates to leadership and somebody must take responsibility and be on the front line. However, in many cases the leaders in public incitement face many challenges that include lack of cooperation, possible arrests, and probable deaths. Nevertheless, without these front liners in public incitement, it is not possible to coerce people to violence. Moreover, the understanding that lock step mentality is part of war is very essential in inciting the public to committing violence. This aspect defines

Effect of Immigration on New York City Research Paper
Effect of Immigration on New York City - Research Paper Example Writing about New York City's population, Nathan Glazer noted, "If the United States remains the permanently unfinished country, to an even greater degree the same is true for New York City" (Vecoli, 567). Various reports show that immigration continues to shape the city. Immigrant flows are at an all time high since the peaks at the turn of the century. Immigration to the city in the 1990-2000 periods stood at approx 13,000 annually, a 32 percent increase over the average of 86,000 in the 1980s. (Lobo, 12) This growth mirrored the increasing flow of immigrants to the country as a whole; as a result, immigrants to the city constituted nearly 15 percent of all immigrants to the U.S. in both the 1980s and 2000s. (Martin, 02) This article examines the nature of these recent immigrant flows and their impact on the city's population. Traditionally, immigrants to the city have been disproportionately from the Caribbean and South America relative to the nation, which has been more likely to get immigrants from Asia and Mexico. The Caribbean comprised 33 percent of the flow of immigrants to the city, but only 12 percent of the flow to the nation in the 2005-2009 periods. ... Likewise, Asians were 26 percent of the city's flow but comprised 42 percent of entering immigrants to the nation. (Martin, 5) The 2000s marked resurgence in European immigration to New York City, and a decline in the share of Caribbean flows. Immigration from Europe stood at 22 percent, more than twice the level of 9 percent in the 1990s. (Vecoli, 562) Caribbean immigration, which stood at 40 percent of the total in the 1990s, dropped 7 points in the 2000s. However, the share of the Hispanic Caribbean (primarily the Dominican Republic) actually increased while there was a decline in flows from non-Hispanic Caribbean nations such as Jamaica, Haiti, and Barbados. Flows from Guyana, an English-speaking South American nation with a heavy Caribbean influence, also declined. The number of African immigrants to the city, while small, has been increasing steadily over the past three decades and comprised just over two percent of entering immigrants. The reason that immigrants are able to find jobs in the New York City and put a lot of people out of work is because they often take the low-paying jobs that most Americans don't want to do. Even though a lot of people may not like immigrants because they are putting them out of jobs, immigrants in this economy today are helping to keep inflation low, improve housing values, and benefit taxpayers (Martin, par. 12). In other words, immigration helps provide an increase to the U.S. economy. The only people that are really being hurt right now by immigrants are those people without high school degrees (Gelfand and Yee, par. 10). Every year they fight against immigrants for jobs and their wages just seem to keep getting lower. Immigrants who see their relatives and friends leading a better life
